Why our Customers keep coming back!
Manufactured in Australia
All of our products are manufactured in Australia out of high-density Polyester, long-lasting WeatherMax or extra tough Sunbrella fabrics
Quality Fabrics & Fittings
Although cheaper, none of our Windsocks are made out of Nylon or PVC, and none are cheap imports from offshore. They simply don’t last!
Tried, Tested and Guaranteed
We have been doing this a long time and have arrived at the right mix of fabrics that 'fly' well and are durable. All backed by our Guarantee.

Windsock Mouth & Stainless Steel Eyelets
All of our Windsocks are manufactured with a custom extruded pipe sewn into the mouth of the Windsock. This holds the mouth open allowing it to be sensitive to even the lightest of winds. This also provides a more secure method of attaching the Windsock to a Windsock frame (if that is in use).
We only use Stainless Steel spur Eyelets / Grommets. The spur grommets have small teeth or spurs on the female portion of the grommet that dig into the fabric and wrap around the male portion of the grommet to provide a strong grip and keep the grommet from spinning.
The Eyelets are fastened with a protective PVC sleeve completely covering the mouth of the Windsock that, again, provides additional strength.
Windsock Tail – reflective and reinforced
We triple-stitch the tail and sew on a reflective band. This adds further strength to the Windsock and also assists in seeing the Windsock at night.
Tried & Tested Fabrics
At Windsocks Australia we have over many years tried and tested different fabrics. The choice of a Windsocks fabric depends on a few factors, namely: the ability for the Windsock to fly properly (ie material that is not too heavy or too light); durability, particularly in harsh Australian conditions; and UV resistance to prevent fading. Typically nylon, polyester or canvas are the main fabrics used to produce Windsocks.
None of our Windsocks are made out of Nylon and none are imported from offshore. Don’t be misled into going for a cheaper Windsock that might not even last its first storm.
All of our Windsocks are made out of the following:
- Polyester 300D (200gr/m2): waterproof, UV fade resistant, very durable and lightweight. For most uses;
- WeatherMaxLT (220gr/m2): high strength, UV fade resistant and high strength all packed in a lightweight fabric. Used primarily in coastal and offshore environments or where more extreme weather is in play;
- WeatherMax80 (271gr/m2): the big brother of WeatherMaxLT where super high strength is required. Used in extreme environments; and
- Samba (193 gr/m2): for our printed Windsocks which is long-lasting, fade-resistant and hold our digital printed Windsocks designs extremely well.
Windsock Colours
Polyester comes in Neon Yellow or Neon Orange. WeatherMax comes in white, yellow, red or red/ white stripped. Sunbrella (pictured) comes in orange, red and yellow. Samba can be printed in any colour and with any design you choose.
The full range of colours are shown on our Shop.
